World of Tanks Blitz is hitting the road in a very interesting fashion; as Wargaming sends a specially graffitied, real-life tank on a round-trip of the United States. Having arrived in Los Angeles just in time for The Game Awards, this tank is made to promote the recen Deadmau5 collaboration event.
And yes, before you ask this thing is fully street-legal and decommissioned. So no need to worry about any Wargaming staff or iconic electronic music DJs going rogue. However, if you were lucky enough to snap a picture on seeing it cross the country, you’ll probably have noticed the vibrantly graffitied hull.
For those of you who weren’t already aware the exclusive Deadmau5 and World of Tanks Blitz collab is indeed live. You’ll have the chance to nab an exclusive Mau5tank, boasting a dazzling array of lights, speakers and music. Meanwhile themed quests are available to play, alongside exclusive camos and cosmetics to nab.

I admit, for my part I think there’s something inherently humorous about seeing World of Tanks mobile spin-off wholly embrace the whole gameification aspect. Although no doubt someone somewhere on an amateur military simulation server is sat there fuming about the latest silly addition to their favourite tank battler.
For my part, I reckon it’s a fun but ultimately harmless exercise. I mean, let’s be honest, they’re not the first folks to do this, as Wargaming has been beaten out by everyone up to and including breweries. But at the same time, for those of us who enjoy a bit of heavy metal, seeing one of these tanks roaming our neighbourhood is sure to brighten up a dark winter.
