Government Law College, Ernakulam, commemorated its 150th anniversary with the inauguration of the Indo-Dutch Research Centre on Climate Change Law, Research and Education, a collaborative venture with the Leiden University’s Van Vollenhoven Institute.
Venu Rajamony, former Indian Ambassador to the Netherlands, inaugurated the research centre at a function held on Friday (December 13). Dr. Adriaan Bedner, Professor and Head of the Van Vollenhoven Institute at Leiden University, spoke, according to a release issued.
The institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding to foster collaboration in climate change law education. The collaboration aims at promoting interdisciplinary research, organising international workshops, and developing educational modules on climate change law.
The partnership also focuses on creating joint research outputs, student and faculty exchanges, and publishing books and manuals on climate change education.
