Less than a week after a 32-year-old man was charged with first-degree murder, a 17-year-old boy from Saskatoon has been charged with manslaughter in connection with a fatal shooting in North Battleford.
RCMP on Monday said major crimes investigators located and arrested the boy in Regina on Dec. 12. In addition to the manslaughter charge, he faces one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the teen cannot be identified.
On Dec. 7, Xavier Lonesinger, 26, was arrested while in custody at the Saskatoon provincial jail and charged with first-degree murder.
Lonesinger and the teen are charged in connection with the Feb. 2 shooting of Jordan Wright at a home in North Battleford.
According to RCMP, members of the North Battleford detachment received a call shortly before 6 p.m. on Feb. 2 about a shooting at a home on 93rd Street in North Battleford.
Officers responding to the scene located 32-year-old old Wright, who was later pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.
According to RCMP, investigators determined that two males “entered the house armed with weapons and an altercation took place. A firearm was discharged and the 32-year-old male was injured, he later died of his injuries.”
Investigators determined the incident was not random, RCMP said.
No other details have been released.
