Going in loud and guns blazing is fun and all, but if you want to play Roblox Notoriety on a whole new level, stealth is the way to go. Don’t let the silent approach scare you because few things feel better than carefully and perfectly executing a heist without killing or alarming anyone.
To help you become a secret agent criminal, we’ve compiled a guide to help you out.
The most important rules when playing stealth
Weapons, skills, gadgets, and equipment are going to help you, absolutely, but these things are arguably more important:
- Teamwork – Even though you can solo most things, Notoriety is a co-op-based game, so you really should cooperate with your teammates. Turn on your voice chat, say hello, and get yourself organized. No mic? Then, hit the in-game text chat. Either way, communication between teammates can improve your experience a lot.
- Try not to kill anyone – Emphasis on “try”. You’ll be killing a lot of things in Notoriety, but whenever you can, try to avoid it. It’s quieter and less risky, and the game will reward you for it. After all, you’re playing to steal things, not murder (well, most of the time anyway).
- Don’t rush – So many times, we join the lobby with players who just want to shoot things (even when the mission clearly says “Stealth”). Don’t be that player. Stay with your teammates, and move slowly and carefully. Stealth in this game works really well (it’s actually quite forgiving), and even as a new player, you can easily avoid getting spotted. If you aren’t sure what to do, ask your teammates. The majority of the players we’ve encountered were happy to explain things.
- Knowing the game > What you wear – You’ll quickly figure out that playing Notoriety stealthy isn’t so much about the best gun and the best gadget but rather what you can do without them. The best thing you can do is do the two things listed above.
Best Weapons for Stealth Build
Ready for us to blow your mind? Almost any weapon in the game is great for Stealth… as long as it has a Silencer. For the most part, you won’t need a weapon if you’re good at stealth, but when things get hairy, and they will just fire a few silent bullets and clean up the mess ASAP.
Of course, there are weapons that are better at this than others.
Primary Weapons
- Crossbow – If you have a Gamepass, this is all you’ll ever need for Stealthy missions. It’s one of the least noticeable weapons in the game, and it’s just so cool to use.
- Winchester 1873 –
- Any Sniper Rifle – Contrary to popular beliefs, Snipers aren’t actually that effective in Stealth. Enemies tend to spot them from a mile away, even if you have skills that lower detection; they are loud, even with silencers. With that said, if you need to take a guard up on a roof from a distance, there’s no better pick.
Secondary Weapons
- FiveSeven – Handguns are your best friend if you’re going in stealthy and the FiveSeven is almost perfect. It has amazing accuracy, decent damage, and super high concealment.
- Judge – If you need something just as easy to conceal but with extremely high damage, the Judge might be a good pick for you. It’s slow, but sometimes all you need is one shot, and the Judge excels at that.
- P90 – For some reason, you can easily conceal this submachine gun. It’s not the most subtle weapon, but if you trigger the alarm and need a quick escape, this thing will save you.
Gadgets
Gadgets are actually super useful for a stealth build, but most of the best ones require a gamepass.
- Smoke Bomb – Really useful for clearing large areas (10 studs) without killing anyone.
- Shuriken, Brick, Knife – Essentially, any throwing weapon comes in handy if you don’t want to use your gun.
- Saw – Saw is a good crutch if you don’t have the right skills yet. While most players use it as a melee weapon, it can also open doors and open deposit boxes. Just know, it’s as quiet as, well… as saw.
Skills
As we’ve already established, going in quiet means you don’t really need to invest points into armor, health, or better weapon handling. Instead, we suggest picking Skills that are going to boost everything else for you and your teammates. This means you should invest mostly into Mastermind, Ghost, and maybe a few points into Technician.
- Intimidator – This Skill really comes in handy if you don’t want to kill anyone. You can take hostages from afar, and you can even shoot near them and make them surrender. Combined with a silenced weapon, taking hostages has never been easier.
- Halt! – Take an enforcer as a hostage. You can even get two with the Aced Skill.
- Joker – Convert an enforcer to fight at your side. Extremely useful when things don’t go according to plan.
- Optical Illusion – Add more concealment to silenced weapon.
- Inner pockets – With the basic skill, you can conceal your melee weapon better, but with the Ace perk, you get even better concealment if you’re wearing citizen armor.
- Infiltrator – Super useful at Aced. Kick doors down without making a peep.
- Drill Technician – Repair drills by hitting them with a melee weapon. We cannot even tell you how much we love this one.
- Silent Drill – Only the basic perk. Make Drills run quietly.
That’s all there is to it. Check out our Notoriety codes for some cool in-game rewards.
