Unheard music from Can’s Holger Czukay will be released in March.
The German composer helped to bring left-field classical ideas into the pop and rock realm, with Can’s singular discography standing as formidable testament to his genius.
Working tirelessly, Holger Czukay once gave almost 65 minutes of music “for free disposal” to a friend, and the tapes then drifted into the ether.
Coming into the arms of Dirk Dresselhaus, aka Schneider TM, the recordings have been given a full mix, and will be released next year.
Out on March 28th, ‘Gvoon – Brennung 1’ brings these recordings together. Arthur Schmidt AKA Gvoon, who gave the tapes to Dirk, comments…
“Holger gave me this album in the 1990s and I’ve never used it. I found the recording again by chance while looking for sounds for my current project, Innen. Now I’m giving it to you, and you can do with it as you please.”
