Jordan Henderson has reportedly been left out of England’s provisional Euro 2024 squad, with his former Liverpool team-mate Curtis Jones set to step up in his place.
The 32-year-old has been a regular inclusion in the England set-up over the past decade, though questions over his Three Lions future were raised when he controversially left Liverpool for Saudi Arabia last summer.
His stay at Al-Ettifaq lasted just six months before he left for Ajax in the January transfer window, in a move that was seen to boost his Euro 2024 hopes.
However, as reported by the Athletic, Henderson will be left out of England’s provisional Euro 2024 squad, with the announcement of Gareth Southgate‘s selection to take place this afternoon.
It has also been claimed that Liverpool’s Curtis Jones has been included in the place of his former captain at Anfield, meaning he has a chance to win his first senior cap for his country.

Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford is also said to be among the expected inclusions in the squad.
However, the news of Henderson raises questions over his international future.
Henderson has played 81 times for his country, has been present at England’s last six major tournaments, and been one of the first names on the squad list during the entirety of Southgate’s reign as Three Lions manager.
