It’s been just over a week since I’m A Celebrity 2024 ended so that means it’s time to start thinking ahead to next year’s show to fill that jungle void in our lives.
It was McFly star Danny Jones, 38, who was crowned champion of the ITV show earlier this month after beating finalists Coleen Rooney, 38, and Reverend Richard Coles, 62.
Next year’s I’m A Celebrity has a lot to live up to as the 2024 line-up, which also featured the likes of GK Barry and Maura Higgins, was hailed by viewers as its ‘best’ yet.
But fans have already begun compiling a list of their dream campmates for 2025, including a 00s TV star who has kept a lower profile in recent years.
They’re hoping Karl Pilkington, 52, makes a splashy comeback on I’m A Celebrity – and we’re sure Ricky Gervais at least would approve of his pal suffering through Bushtucker Trials.
Karl first soared to fame on the comedian’s Radio X show before going on to front his own travel series An Idiot Abroad from 2010 until 2012 and companion series The Moaning of Life from 2013 until 2015.
His last major TV show in which he had a leading role was comedy-drama series Sick of It, which concluded in 2020 after two years.
Since then, Karl’s had small rolles on The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe, Rain Dogs and Ludwig.
Now, though, Karl’s fans are desperate for him to return to centre stage on I’m A Celebrity, with Leather-Assistant902 writing on Reddit: ‘I’d love to see Karl Pilkington in it. I know he never will do it, but it’d still be nice.’
Other users were keen to see the likes of comedian James Acaster, TV presenter Alan Carr, singer Jamelia and Clarkson’s Farm star Jeremy Clarkson in the jungle.
I’m A Celebrity is not the only show Karl has been tipped for.
Former Strictly pro Joanne Clifton previously said she would like to be partnered with Karl if she ever returned to the BBC show.
Well, her first choice was Prince Harry but Karl was a close second.
She previously told the Daily Star: ‘‘I think he would be absolutely hilarious to work with on it, you would give him a move and tell him the technique and he’d be like but why?’
Joanne added: ‘It would be so funny I think, not in terms of his dancing because he might be amazing but in terms of working with him.’
I’m A Celebrity is available to stream on ITVX.
