Fans have voiced their disgust with Tommy Lee after his wife opened up about his shower habits – or, more precisely, his lack of them.
The Motley Crue star has been in the spotlight for decades, having formed the iconic rock band in the 80s.
It’s fair to say that the 62-year-old has attracted his fair share of headlines in that time, but many have been given the ‘ick’ following Brittany Furlan’s admission that he only showers once a week.
During an appearance on the Off the Vine podcast, she insisted that her husband was ‘very neat’, before lifting the lid on his grim personal grooming efforts.
‘The guys that I’ve dated before him were very messy,’ she told host Kaitlyn Bristowe. ‘That’s a big yucky for me – a guy that can’t even put his f**king socks in the hampers. I’m so clean, my house looks like a f**king museum.
‘My husband is very neat, which people wouldn’t expect from someone who’s a musician.
’They would expect him to be a f**king nightmare – dirty. He doesn’t shower a lot, but he’s very neat. He doesn’t make a mess.’
When questioned over his lack of bathing, the 38-year-old said that he’s ‘not big on the showers’.
‘My husband was born in Greece, he was born in Athens,’ he continued. ‘He said growing up, that that’s a thing in Europe. You don’t need to shower every day.
‘They would just do the white washcloth if they felt like they were getting a little funky.
‘My husband showers like once a week.’
Instead, Tommy takes a ‘bird bath’ by quickly washing in the sink before moving on with his day.
‘I wash the hair once a week and then I shower every night,’ she added of her own habits. ‘But I’m overly clean and I’m stripping my body of all the oils it probably needs.’
Listeners couldn’t get over what they were hearing, and flocked to social media to unpack the musician’s bathing regime.
Taking to Twitter, Christian wrote: ‘I’m sorry but that’s gross – you need to shower daily – that’s just gross.’
Cindy Cooper said: ‘Now I smell ass everytime I look at him [sic].’
Joey simply said: ‘Thats just damn nasty.’
As Staci Wise added: ‘He could shower twice everyday and he would still give the ick.’
Thankfully for Tommy, Brittany vowed that she is definitely still attracted to him, adding: ‘No, because he’s so handsome. It’s really crazy.
‘He’s a really good-looking guy. He doesn’t really give me the ick.’
The lovebirds started dating in 2017 after meeting on celebrity dating app Raya – they announced their engagement the following year, before tying the knot in 2019.
Tommy has walked down the aisle three times before, having married Elaine Starchuk, Heather Locklear and Pamela Anderson.
He welcomed two sons, Brandon and Dylan, with the Baywatch actress during a rollercoaster romance.
