With the latest update to Fisch, the Northern Expedition, you are in for a bunch of new quests and, of course, some exciting rewards as well. Getting the Heaven’s Rod will require you to complete a long quest, all about collecting several crystal shards spread around an icy island.
Let’s take a look at how to find the orange crystal shard in particular, as that will require going through several different steps, along with using a specific item.
Orange crystal shard location (Northern Expedition)
The Orange crystal shard might be a bit more difficult to locate than the blue and green ones, as you will have to look a bit harder to find it in the mountains near the Northern Expedition island. You can choose to wait for another player to activate an Avalanche event, or wait for it to happen naturally. Still, if you do not want to spend too much time waiting, we would recommend getting the Avalanche Totem. This can be bought from the shop for 150.000C$. The totem can be found behind a rock, right before a snow-covered bridge.
Once you have the totem, return to the Overgrowth Caves. Take the right path (the one that leads you to the Summit) and go straight. You’ll come across a spot with three big stones, behind a tree, located near a ledge. Drop down there and use the totem (or check if there is an Avalanche event already taking place) and you should see the Orange crystal shard. The shard can be found at the following coordinates: 19498, 335 5552.
How to get the Blue and Green Crystal shards in Fisch (Northern Expedition)
The Blue crystal can be found in the first camp you should come across in the mountains around the Northern Expedition village. From the ground level, take the left path, cross the ice path, and climb up the mountain using the stairs, where you will reach the first base camp.
While you could reach the cave with the Blue crystal by climbing up the stairs in front of the campfire, take the path on the right instead. By continuing to follow the path, you should reach the second base camp, where you can finally buy the Pickaxe (along with the Beginner Oxygen Tank) from an NPC. Fork over 5.000C$ to get the Pickaxe.
Once you have acquired the Pickaxe, return to the cave and break open the block of ice, right next to a frozen NPC, to get your hands on the Blue Energy Crystal. As for the Green crystal, go back to Overgrowth Caves and continue going straight. After a while, you should reach a little lake which you can safely swim across. You will see a strange NPC sitting down, just to your left, interact with him and you will get the Green crystal shard.
