Kangana Ranaut, known for portraying an array of characters on the big screen, opened 2025 with one of the most interesting and challenging roles of her life—the role of India’s former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi. The actress played this strong character in her latest movie, Emergency, which is close to completing its second-week run at the theatres. According to the Sacnilk report, after 13 days, the film has crossed the Rs.17 crore mark.
Owing to the political nature of the movie and several controversies that embroiled it, many trade experts predicted that the film might fail the test at the box office. Contrary to that, the film opened to a decent business and maintained a steady pace. After earning Rs.14 crore in its first week, the movie saw its ups and downs. It benefited from the Republic Day weekend, and after that, it has been making around Rs. 0.2 crore per day. The total of ‘Emergency’ currently stands at Rs. 17.31 crore.
