Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna are co-stars in the hit TV serial Anupamaa.
Rupali Ganguly expressed her displeasure after a troll accused her of ‘paying to downgrade’ her co-star Gaurav Khanna.
Anupamaa star Rupali Ganguly recently reacted to a video featuring her co-star Gaurav Khanna’s wife, Akanksha Chamola. In the video, which gained traction on social media, Chamola is seen discussing the unconditional love for animal babies compared to human kids, before dropping her cat.
Now, Rupali and Gaurav’s fans frequently get into heated arguments on X. Shortly after Akanksha’s video went viral, a number of users criticised her for it, calling the behaviour “disgusting”. Others, however, rallied in her favour and highlighted how cats are designed to withstand enormous falls.
Following the release of Akanksha’s video, a user on X demanded that Free Press Journal clarify just how much money they had received from Rupali’s PR team in exchange for denigrating Gaurav and his wife. The user called the revelation “cruel” and “disgusting” and stated that Akanksha had nothing to do with the “crap” Anupamaa show.
Rupali intervened and responded, requesting that the user meet her and “happily” ask her this.

As a number of Gaurav fans said that Rupali’s fans deliberately circulated the video and attempted to incite animosity towards the actor and his spouse, Rupali subsequently advised her supporters to avoid involving family members in the dispute.
Rupali asked everyone in another post on X to let the good things not be dominated by the bad. “Also please DO NOT drag the families into the regular slamfests.”
She continued by saying that it would be detrimental to the goal of animal welfare that she supports to put down a “vegan animal lover” who offered a home for the homeless animals.
She said, “Request you all to maintain a little kindness and decorum.”
When The Free Press Journal contacted Akanksha about the matter, the actress clarified her position in a chat. When asked about the video, Akanksha stated that she does not use Twitter and is thus uninformed of what is going on there.
Akanksha claimed she loves animals and works tirelessly to preserve and improve their quality of life when speaking about the video in question. She informed the news organisation that the viral video was staged and intended for “fun purpose.”
In response to Rupali’s public support for her, Akanksha expressed gratitude to her and remarked that it is rather kind of Rupali to do so, particularly considering that she is neither using the site nor aware of what is going on there.
