Vincent Clerc, chief executive at Danish shipping giant A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S, expects disruptions to container shipping through the Red Sea to continue into the third quarter, increasing challenges for both carriers and businesses, Reuters reported. Mr. Clerc said that the longer these disruptions last, the more its costs will get deeply ingrained. Maersk and other shipping firms have diverted vessels around Africa’s Cape of Good Hope since December 2023 to avoid attacks by the Houthis in the Red Sea.
