Gallagher Re said reinsurance mid-year renewals in the Middle East were challenging and late, mainly due to uncertainty around loss estimates from the recent floods in the United Arab Emirates, Reinsurance News reported. The reinsurance brokerage said the floods directly impacted the original property policies, as cedents are imposing increases in deductibles and prices.
