A man and woman are dead and a suspect is in police custody following a shooting Saturday afternoon in Oshawa.

Durham Regional Police say sounds of gunshots were reported near Rossland Rd. W. and Stevenson Rd. N. at approximately 12:35 p.m.
Police say officers arrived at a home on Glenforest St. and found a 42-year-old man who had been shot and died shortly before being transported to hospital.
Officers also received information at the scene that led them to a second address on Glenforest St., cops say.
Upon entering the residence, officers found a 42-year-old woman who had also been shot. She was pronounced dead by paramedics.
A 30-year-old man was taken into custody at the second address without incident, police said, adding there is no risk to public safety.
“The suspect is known to both victims, however the motive behind the murders is still under investigation,” police said. “This is not a domestic-related incident.”
