Darbhanga, Bihar – In a shocking and brutal incident, the father of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani was found murdered at their ancestral home in Bihar’s Darbhanga district. Jitan Sahani’s mutilated body was discovered on the bed early this morning, sparking panic among local residents.
Senior police officer Jagannath Reddy confirmed the incident, stating that a police team is currently at the Sahani residence. Preliminary investigations suggest that someone entered the home with the intent to steal and killed Jitan Sahani when he resisted, according to Senior Officer Manish Chandra Chaudhary.
A three-member Special Investigation Team has been formed to probe the crime, as confirmed by Officer Reddy. The incident has drawn strong reactions from political leaders and parties. The main opposition, RJD, has criticized the Nitish Kumar government, with spokesperson Shakti Yadav expressing shock and condemning the state of law and order in Bihar. “What is happening in Bihar? Not a day goes by without news of a murder. A mindless government is in power. The system has collapsed,” Yadav said, offering condolences to Mukesh Sahani.
Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Samrat Choudhary termed the incident “unfortunate” and assured strict action. “Anyone guilty would be put behind bars. The government stands firmly with Mukesh Sahani ji’s family,” Choudhary stated. Neeraj Kumar of the ruling JDU also emphasized that a thorough investigation is underway and vowed that the culprits would not be spared.
Union Minister and LJP (Ramvilas) leader Chirag Paswan condemned the murder, stating, “The criminals will be identified at the earliest and action will be taken. My condolences for Mukesh Sahani ji and his family.”
Mukesh Sahani, a former minister in the Bihar government, leads the Vikassheel Insaan Party, which has a strong support base in the OBC community and is currently allied with the RJD and the Congress in the INDIA Opposition bloc. The incident has sent shockwaves through the state, highlighting the pressing need for improved security and justice for victims and their families.
