Acrisure LLC said Wednesday it has hired John Tuttle, vice chairman of the New York Stock Exchange, as president.
Mr. Tuttle will relocate to Grand Rapids, Michigan, and join the brokerage Sept. 1, Acrisure said in a statement. He will report to CEO Greg Williams.
Mr. Tuttle has held various positions at the NYSE since 2007 and was named vice chairman in 2022. Before joining the exchange, he worked in the U.S. Department of State and in the White House during the administration of President George W. Bush.
“At the NYSE, Tuttle was involved in nearly every line of business, including listings, capital markets, and exchange-traded products, helping manage the exchange’s relationships with 2,400 issuers and over 1,300 equity offerings, including IPOs and follow-ons, which raised over $1.5 trillion,” the statement said.
Acrisure, which recently reorganized its regional operations, was reported last year to be considering a $20 billion initial public offering. More recently, Mr. Williams said an IPO is unlikely this year but likely “sooner as opposed to later.”
Acrisure is the world’s seventh-largest broker, reporting $3.89 billion in brokerage revenue in 2023. It has grown rapidly through hundreds of acquisitions over the past decade.
