I commend Coun. Sonya Sharp for speaking up on behalf of Calgary citizens about the councillors doing their jobs. Cut the crap and being real is sure to cause her problems, but where is Dan McLean these days, he too should be backing her up. But she is dead-on with her assessment. Now if we could get the city hall paper-pushers to do the same. Money for nothing at city hall. Over-priced and not doing their jobs gets us big blue rings and no water.

(We commend Sharp as well.)
Quick fix for potholes
Some of the potholes in my area are so deep you could sell donkey rides to a gift store at the bottom. Here’s an idea: Have the bigwigs drive themselves to work. The potholes would be repaired very quickly. Oh wait, we probably have more $5-million slogans coming., That $5 million would fill a lot of potholes.

So much hatred?
It is saddening to hear comments from people expressing sentiments of sorrow that an assassin failed in his attempt and that Mr. Trump survives to continue his campaign toward the White House. I have only only one question for those who make such comments. Do you have so much hatred in your heart for that man that you could pull a trigger on him? Words like bullets can’t be retrieved but they do wound both the reputation and respectability of those who utter them.

(Well put.)
True cost of EVs
Understanding the real costs of owning an electric car. Batteries last 6-10 years, then they are done. Typical battery cost for a hybrid is $25,000-$30,000; fully electric up to $54,000. Electric cars close to the battery wearing out are worthless as typically the battery is worth more than the car at that point. Thus, older electric cars have no retained residual value, unlike gasoline vehicles that always have residual value. Unfortunately, electric car owners are finding this out the hard way.

(Definitely something to be aware of.)
Older folks blamed
Message from Justin Trudeau to all the older folks out there who own their own homes. It`s because of you folks that there is a housing crisis in Canada, so it is time for you selfish people to sell your homes and move out into the suburbs. And here I thought the mantra was for older folks to stay in their homes as long as possible. Oh well, I checked out the suburbs in Brooks and my new neighbours would be rattlesnakes and gophers.
J.D. Round
(That’s a good mantra.)
