Are Canadian soccer coaches following the Liberal playbook, with their actions discrediting the whole team and country on the world stage? That pretty much sums up our government on a weekly basis; another sign of what is happening to our country.

It is hard to show pride in our athletic efforts when we are hanging our heads in shame because of a few.

RIDICULOUS OPENING CEREMONY

What brilliant, woke minds planned the ridiculous and insulting Olympic opening ceremony? I was flabbergasted and could not continue watching. What in the world did any of it have to do with sports? It absolutely convinced me to tune out the entire Games and not spend a minute of my time on these wasteful, overpriced and over-hyped Olympics.

I don’t need to be reminded over and over about this virtue-signalling woke world we live in. I get enough of that right here in Canada. Pathetic.

WORST OPENING CEREMONY EVER

This was the worst Olympic Games opening ceremony ever. Isn’t the ceremony supposed to highlight the athletes? They were packed so tightly into their boats, you couldn’t tell one from the other, and the boats were so far from shore I’m sure the people in the stands were unable to pick out their loved ones. I pity the parents who were standing on the wrong bank of the Seine so they only saw the backs of the athletes.

Bring back the parade of athletes in a stadium where the camera can spotlight individual athletes, and the people in the stands are close enough as they parade past in a circle for all to see no matter where they are seated. As a bonus, in a stadium they won’t be drenched with pouring rain.

Better yet, with all the expense, cheating and controversy every four years, make this the last Olympic Games ever held. The Games won’t be missed, believe me.
