- Over 120 hours of gameplay
- Two modes to tinker around with
- Isometric grid-based combat
XD has announced the official launch of Sword of Convallaria, the studio’s JRPG that promises plenty of old-school vibes but with gorgeous modernised visuals. Hot off a successful run from Steam Next Fest, the JRPG offers over 120 hours of genre-faithful gameplay that boasts lovely soundscapes from composer Hitoshi Sakimoto (of Final Fantasy Tactics fame).
In Sword of Convallaria, you can look forward to embarking on an epic quest to save the world while encountering colourful fantasy heroes along the way. Rescue the nation of Iria by diving into tactical battles set on a grid-based battlefield, with isometric combat and plenty of political intrigue to uncover.
There are two experiences you can try your hand at: the open-ended single-player campaign called Spiral of Destinies, or the online mode where you can go on weekly quests or team up with like-minded individuals in your own guild.
The former offers ten different endings with player-driven choices across the factions of the Union of Knight States, the Kingdom of Iria Armed Forces, and the Papal States among others. Meanwhile, the latter will have you recruiting your own lineup of mercs on a quest to save the world.
“Orge Battle made a very deep impression on me, which truly made me fall in with SRPGs,” says Guo Lei, Game Director of Sword of Convallaria at XD. “It’s been so exciting combining the talents of our development team, voice actors, and Mr. Sakimoto into an epic adventure, and we hope players enjoy the results.”
