July saw some picture-worthy moments around Saskatoon, from the Jazz Festival to local sports and extreme weather.

July 5: Let the music play

July 5: Wading into the boatmen

July 17: A berry experienced picker
Wayne Collins, who celebrated his 78th birthday on July 19, has been picking Saskatoon berries at Moon Lake Saskatoon Berry Farm at 677 Valley Rd. for more than 15 years. The U pick, which is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., will continue until the berries dry out from the summer heat. If you can fill three pails, you get the fourth one free. July 18: Bomb scare at RUH
Emergency responders converged on Royal University Hospital after an alleged bomb threat in the afternoon on July 17. RUH and the Jim Pattison Children’s ER were put on lockdown. No injuries were reported, and police later lifted the lockdown. (Michelle Berg, Saskatoon StarPhoenix)
July 20: Beating the heat by the creek

July 31: Occupants escape duplex blaze
The remnants of a duplex in the 200 block of Gray Avenue are pictured July 30 after a fire around 7:50 p.m. on July 29. One unit in a neighbouring duplex was also involved, the fire department said in a news release on July 30. All occupants evacuated safely and no injuries were reported.
