Residents of John D’Or Prairie, a neighborhood on the Little Purple River Cree Nation in northern Alberta, had been informed to take shelter Thursday morning throughout a police operation.
The shelter-in-place order was issued at 7:33 a.m.
Fort Vermilion RCMP had been mentioned to be “responding to a high-risk police scenario at a residence” in John D’Or Prairie.
“Though the scenario is contained to the residence, police are asking all residents of the John D’Or Prairie townsite to lock their doorways, keep inside and observe instructions of responding officers,” Mounties mentioned.
